Over ten years ago Jirrell and I started studying music production at Mercy College in White Plains, NY. (Now in Dobbs Ferry, NY) After years of long nights in the studios working on our own projects we decided to start collaborating together. We always shared a great respect for each other’s music. I loved Jirrell’s approach to vocals and rapping. We would work on J Meets West once every few months between his records as JCA and mine with Wess Meets West. Time got away from us and we put other projects ahead of this one. We finally put together an EP the best we could with some amazingly talented musicians. I realize this EP is mostly just for us. A time capsule of sorts, a reminder of two friends from different backgrounds creating something different. Thank you for listening. - Sam
